Most of the houses on Beechwood Avenue Lower have tiled paths leading up to the front door. Not sure if they’re original or if there was a huge trend, but a few of the patterns are repeated so much that it would be a funny coincidence – the most distinctive is the red, yellow and blue pattern with the matching border tiles, but there’s also a lot of the plain black and terracotta set on a chequerboard grid at 45 degrees to the street. Whatever their origin, they make for a visually interesting stroll to the Beechwood Luas station.
