On the side of Ringsend bus garage, there’s a statue of the Virgin Mary in a glass case, fixed to the wall just above a doorway. There’s a window behind her which appears to be blocked by the case.
There’s no visible plaques and the garage isn’t a public building – it’s a depot, not a passenger station. I’m guessing that the statue is similar to Taxi Rank Jesus on O’Connell Street: for the protection of the drivers, and perhaps in memoriam too.
